Eddie Vedder’s Tribute Song For Permanent Nutface Gary

June 3rd, 2008

Remember Permanent Nutface Gary? How could we not, right? Well now, a tribute song has been written and performed in his honor. Who, might you ask, would have written a song for Permanent Nutface Gary? Oh just a guy by the name of Eddie Vedder. Check it out.

Benefit Show and Walk Recap

May 20th, 2008

Last Friday night I performed at the benefit show for Supersnack at the Brooklyn Masonic Temple. I performed as Dr. Lanny Latham. There were over 500 people there. All of those 500 plus people were there mainly to see the band, The Mountain Goats. A great majority of those people were also excited to see John Oliver, Dave Hill and others perform. I don’t think anyone was there to see Dr. Lanny Latham. But Lanny did his best to get them psyched. Check out some of these awesome pics from the event all taken by Jason Bergman.

In addition to the benefit concert on Friday night was the actual AIDS Walk NY on Sunday morning. Our good friend, Permanent Nutface Gary, just might’ve participated in this walk as well. We got some great footage of Gary walking through Central Park as crowds of people cheered him on. Team Supersnack was cool enough to go along with it and led many cheers of “Go Nutface! Go Nutface! Go!” On Monday, my mouth, neck and head were really sore. And I couldn’t figure out why. Then I remembered, “Oh yeah, I had my head and neck turned back with my mouth wide open while I walked around for 6 miles. Maybe that was it.” But I think it was worth it. Stay tuned for the next Permanent Nutface Gary video.

Shows Up the Wazoo

May 7th, 2008

This post probably doesn’t help those living outside of the Greater Tri-State Area, unless you want to get on the next flight into LaGuardia. But I’ve got several shows coming up next week. You can check out all of my show info here on this very site or on my MySpace Page. (I’ve never promoted my MySpace page before, but I figure why not now? Also, does Facebook have an application where you can list your shows?)

Now at this time, I’d like to highlight two of those shows. The first one is a showcase show at the UCB. Here’s the info:

1. UCBT Super Spring Showcase
Monday, May 12th at 9:30 pm
UCB Theatre
307 West 26th Street
$5
Reservations

The second one is a benefit show for AIDS Walk NY. This is the third year in a row I’ve performed at the show. And I gotta say, it’s honestly one of my favorite shows of the year. Plus it’s for a good cause.

2. Supersnack’s Third Ball: A Benefit for AIDS Walk NY
(With The Mountain Goats, John Oliver, Dave Hill and More)
Friday, May 16th at 8 pm
Brooklyn Masonic Temple
317 Clermont Ave. at Lafayette Ave
Click Here To Get Tickets and More Info

In related news, last Saturday, I had the honor of performing at the hit improv show, Let’s Have a Ball. And I might be sitting in on future shows. So stay tuned for that.

Okay, that’s that. Thanks for listening. I mean reading.

My Dad’s 70th Birthday Video

April 29th, 2008

Dad’s 70th Bday Video from lathan on Vimeo.

Yesterday was my Dad’s 70th Birthday. As a present, my sisters’ and I made a video for him. We all live all over the place (London, NYC, and West Chester, PA), so we had to film everything separately, and I had the task of editing the footage together. I have zero experience editing, but I was able to somewhat pull it off. It still doesn’t look very slick, but it’s okay for a “Latham” job I guess. The video is very long at 13 minutes, so you definitely don’t have to watch it. But hey, you get to see my awesome nephews and niece, as well as my cool sistas’. But definitely turn it off before you see me at the end. Otherwise you’ll have to sit through my excruciatingly painful performance, full of exaggerated accents that go in and out. (If you can’t tell, my Dad is into Elvis.) Also, if you can’t tell I am a huge dork-wad.

Oh yeah, also today is my wife’s birthday. She is not 70, but I still thought I’d make a special video for her as well.

Ask Bobby

Above is a new video I did for UCBComedy.com called “Ask Bobby”. I first performed “Ask Bobby” live on stage at an Osgood-Schlatter Show a few years back. But with the help of one Will Hines I fine tuned it and broke it up into four parts. Will did a great job directing and editing it. Greg Tuculescu and Violet Krumbein also did a great job as the voices of the callers. Below are links to all four videos in the “Ask Bobby” series. Enjoy.

Ask Bobby: Career

Ask Bobby: Marriage

Ask Bobby: Middle East

Ask Bobby: Lightning Round

Crazy Message From an eBay Seller

April 25th, 2008

Several months ago (February 4th to be exact) the wife, Niki, purchased a pair of rain boots on eBay. We paid for them. But they never came. We contacted the seller several times. But still received no reply. Well, a week ago, we finally got a reply. I felt bad about posting it but felt it was too good to pass up. Plus I’m not revealing the sellers username or real name. Here it is:
—————————————————————————————

Crazy Legs in Time Out NY Visitors Guide

April 14th, 2008

Tourists all over NYC will soon be wondering where they can check out the comedy stylings of…the dork on red stilts. That’s because there’s a little blurb about me in the new Time Out NY Visitors Guide. If you pick up a copy, it’s in the Comedy Section, on page 87. Here is what it looks like (which you probably can’t read):

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

And here is a close-up (which you still probably can’t read):

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

So it looks like you’ll have to pick up an actual copy to read it. It should be available at most newsstands and bookstores in New York. Basically they condensed the article that Jane Borden wrote about me, and added in a new picture of me on my stilts photographed by Kyle Supley. So thanks to Jane, Kyle and the editors at the Visitors Guide.

I look forward to having entire new legions of fans at my shows - who will hopefully be tossing Euros at my feet and heckling me in German to do “Blitzsnell Esser.”

Permanent Nutface Gary

March 31st, 2008

This short is now on the very front page of funny or die as the main featured video. Please vote “funny” or else all of the “die” haters will win. And we don’t want that to happen, do we?

Scavenger Hunt

March 25th, 2008

A sketch I filmed called Scavenger Hunt is now on the front page of UCBComedy.com.

WARNING: There is brief nudity in this sketch involving my bare, white ass. Shed your eyes. Look away. Put the kids to bed.

Neil Casey is hilariously creepy in it. Thanks to Pete Schultz, Brandon Bassham, Kevin Haas, Two Boots Pizza, and Mister Mister for making it happen. Also, a shout-out should go out to Mr. William Bradford Hines, who helped me come up with this sketch after I told him I had a work outing involving a scavenger hunt all over the city.
