Special Reading at the 92Y Tribeca

Wednesday, April 14th, 2010

Dr. Lanny Latham and his unknowing co-author Will Hines will be performing another reading for their book, “Get Psyched!” It will be at the 92Y Tribeca this Thursday night, April 15th at 7 pm. That’s tax day ladies and gents, and Lanny is even more psyched about taxes than those Tea Partiers.

Take a look at the cast list on board to perform at the reading:

Kenny Mayne (ESPN) (he said he was 40% sure he could do it. I like those odds.)
Adira Amram (Special Musical Guest)
Lennon Parham (CBS’s Accidentally on Purpose)
Kate McKinnon (Logo’s Big, Gay Sketch Show)
Ben Rameaka (UCB)
&
Zach Woods (The Office)

New UCBComedy Series: Rob Lathan’s Impossible Challenge

Thursday, April 1st, 2010

UCBComedy has revamped their website today. Already up on the site is episode #1 of a series I pitched to them called “Rob Lathan’s Impossible Challenge.” In each episode I meet an expert in a particular field of work and then attempt a ridiculous challenge in that same field.

For this episode I get to meet real Competitive Eater “Crazy Legs” Conti and then attempt to eat an insane amount of food in one minute (maybe you’ve seen this bit before). But this time I think I’m gonna finally do it.

Matt Fisher calls the play-by-play. And Todd Bieber and J.D. Amato did an awesome job directing and producing the piece respectively.

Hines and I got back from LA after totally ruling that town. Our Get Psyched! book reading was sold out at the UCB Theatre – thanks in part to a special appearance from Ed Helms (see footage above). Also thanks in part to our other special guests who were all hilarious including: Paul Scheer, Jackie Clarke, Jessica St. Clair, Nate Shelkey, and Sean Clements.

The entire footage from the LA show is available in chapters on YouTube.

And while you’re at it, buy our book for only $10 in person or $12 online at www.getpsyched.biz.

If you’re not convinced enough now, check out these two psyched pictures of Hines and Latham in front of the Hollywood sign.

“Get Psyched!” The Book is Ready

front

Guess what folks? Dr. Lanny Latham has written a book. Yes it’s a real book that will drastically change your life for the better. Of course Lanny couldn’t do it alone. Lanny’s neighbor and co-writer Will Hines was on hand to make sure every syllable was as 100% psyched as possible. There are several people to thank for making this happen (most or all are mentioned at the beginning of the book) but a huge thanks goes out to Damian Chadwick, who designed it.

Buy the book by logging onto Lanny’s website and choose which version you want:

Lost at the Knicks Game

Monday, November 30th, 2009

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NVAvF0IQgxY

For the latest Improv Everywhere mission, I once again got really lost at a sporting event – this time at MSG at a Knicks-Hawks game. Click here to get the full rundown.

The stunt was covered by ESPN the Magazine. Check out the latest issue with Andre Johnson on the cover to read a nice write-up from Neil Janowitz (pg 40). Or just click here.

It was also written up by Will Leitch from NYMag. As well as SI.com, BoingBoing, Esquire, NBC NewYork, Gothamist, and was even up on the front page of MSN for a day.

Thanks to Mr. Charlie Todd, Matt Adams, Katie Sokoler, Chad Nicholson,, as well as Alex Scordelis, Cody Lindquist, Ben Rodgers, and Neil Janowitz for making it happen.
