Real McCain of Genius

Friday, September 5th, 2008

The sketch group, Olde English, asked me to be in their sketch titled “Real McCain of Genius”. Olde English did an awesome job putting it together and it already seems to doing well on the world wide web. My duties were pretty simple: lip synch into microphone while making interesting hand gestures. Hopefully I did an okay job with it.

Phelps Minute on Digg.com

Tuesday, September 2nd, 2008

The Phelps Minute was in the main player on Funny or Die yesterday. So big thanks to the good people at FOD for doing that. Now the video is on the front page of the video section on Digg.com. I’m not 100% sure how digg works, but basically the more people who “digg” your video, the higher your video goes up to the top of the page. So if you have a digg account, please digg away:

Digg It

The comments on digg are pretty amazing. Of course, as with much of the internet, most of them are highly negative. What’s funny is that a lot of them say awful things about the video and yet they’re still “digging” the video. They’ll say something like, “Holy shit, that totally blew.” And then next to their comment, “Plus 4 diggs.” Some people were even offended by the DNC “propaganda” laced throughout the video. And they’re totally right. If this video is anything, it’s meant as a hard hitting propaganda tool for the DNC. That and a marketing ploy for the producers of the movie, Swimfan. So please, keep these amazing comments coming, and digg away.

Permanent Nutface Gary Does Stand-Up

Tuesday, August 26th, 2008

Remember Permanent Nutface Gary? In case you don’t, he’s the dude whose face froze in the middle of an orgasm. And here is some footage of Permanent Nutface Gary doing his patented Al Pacino impression. Look at the range on that guy!

Thanks to Ryan Schultz for filming it and Brandon Bassham for editing it together. The footage was taken from a Special Benefit for Permanent Nutface Gary held at the UCB Theatre. Ben Rodgers is in the background waiting to take calls from possible donors who wished to put an end to Permanent Nutface Syndrome. Nobody called.

Olympic Fever

Friday, August 15th, 2008

It’s been a busy week for me. Last weekend I participated in the Del Close Marathon. It was an amazing time - Brooke Shields even made an appearance and seemed totally cool and on board for anything - as reported accurately here and as reported hilariously inaccurately here. Most of my shows were well after midnight, including a show called The Foxworthy Brothers - with Will Hines and Birch Harms - as seen below. I forgot to bring fake mustaches for everybody (an important part of the show). So Will and Birch used black tape for their fake mustaches. I didn’t forget to bring the awesome mullet wigs, though.

Bottom-line: I didn’t get a lot of sleep over the weekend. On top of that, my sleeping schedule has been disrupted even further by The Olympics. I don’t know why, but I’ve always been a nut-ball for the Olympics. It probably started when I went to the ‘84 Olympics in LA with my Dad. My nut-ball zeal was heightened even more when some college buddies and I volunteered for the ‘96 Games in Atlanta. My sister, who was in charge of the actual medals at the games, got us jobs at the Olympic Stadium as “Coordinators for the Look of the Game”. We were given uniforms and full-access passes and told to report to our boss. But our boss, who we never met, got fired right before the games started. So we basically had nothing to do. We would go to the Olympic Stadium every single day in our uniforms and full-access passes and just watch all of the events for free.

In addition, we would hit up every other sporting event we could - such as the Women’s Gold Medal Soccer match in Athens. We even attended some non-sporting events - we were right next to Centennial Olympic Park at a James Brown concert when the bomb went off. At the end of the two week extravaganza, we ended up selling our Olympic uniforms to tourists for a few hundred bucks each. So we made a profit out of the whole deal. All for doing nothing. We were douchebags.

This year’s Olympics haven’t disappointed either. The Men’s Swimming 4×100 Freestyle Relay Race had to be one of the best sporting events I’ve ever seen. Right? Or is it just me? And last night, I ended up staying up past 1 am watching Women’s Gymnastics. I told myself I would only watch a few minutes and go to bed. But I ended up being glued to the TV for hours. And I didn’t even think I liked Women’s Gymnastics. But what can I say? I guess I’ll always have Olympic Fever. No uniforms to sell this year though. Unless you count my fake mustache that I’ve been wearing as I cheer all of the athletes on. But I don’t know if I’m ready to sell that baby just yet. I might need it.

Dr. Lanny Latham on Sirius Radio

Tuesday, July 15th, 2008

Earlier this year, Dr. Lanny Latham was a guest on Maxim’s “Sex Files” on Sirius Radio. The host of the show contacted Dr. Lanny through his website and asked him to come be a resident expert. Apparently the host and every one else involved with the show all believed Lanny was a real person and more importantly, a real life coach. That’s because he is one. The producers wouldn’t allow us to film the actual show, but luckily we recorded the audio and got some pictures taken, which we edited together to make a video. A lot of the discussion on the show revolved around Kegel exercises. Dr. Lanny Latham didn’t actually know what a Kegel exercise was before the show, but he did his best to wing it. Here it is.
