Videos Galore

Thursday, October 16th, 2008

It seems like all I do is make videos these days. That’s because, along with children, I believe that videos are the future. Today a couple of my vids are making some head way on that their internet. The first one is a Mac/PC parody with a McCain voter and an Obama voter. It was written and directed by Kevin Doyle and also stars Jim Santangeli. We actually filmed a whole series of these. One of them is embedded below or click on the link here to see all of them. Stay tuned for more of these to come.

Next up, Evil Twin Standoff, has been featured on the front page of the Comedy section on YouTube. Like I said before, I’m the good twin. My evil twin is the bad one. Seriously, ask me anything.

And finally, an oldie but goodie I did with Adira Amram and Matt McCarthy was featured by a new video show called PopTube. Scroll to the 1:12 mark and let the psychedness commence.

High School Talent Show Sat. Night at UCB

Friday, October 10th, 2008

This Saturday I will be performing at the High School Talent Show at the UCB Theatre at 7:30. This is actually the one year anniversary of the show – so it will be a Best of Showcase. It’s been a fun run so far spearheaded by the brother-sister combo of Eliot and Ilana Glazer.  The characters I’ve played during the run include: a ventriloquist where the dummy’s voice is pre-recorded, a guy on stilts (I ended up in the ER after one of these shows), an angry 9th grade girls basketball coach, and a backup singer in a Wang Chung cover band. Also one of my favorite bits that is done every show in between acts is the stage crew. I won’t give any more away. Just come check out the show if you happen to be in the Tri-State area.

Worst Sarah Palin Impression Ever

Thursday, October 2nd, 2008

Yesterday, I did my patented Sarah Palin impression and put it out on the internet. Unfortunately, it was immediately voted the Worst Sarah Palin Impression Ever. Decide for yourself. I think it’s pretty good myself.

Directed by one Will Hines. We shot this last night and Will edited it in just a few hours. I think we pretty much nailed it.

Updated: This video has been mentioned on Buzzfeed, BestWeekEver.tv, and The Huffington Post.

Also please digg it if you can.

Evil Twin Standoff

Wednesday, October 1st, 2008

Here’s a new UCBComedy Original I was in called Evil Twin Standoff.

It also stars Andree Vermeulen and Brian Barrett. Guy Patton wrote the script, Brandon Bassham directed it, and Pete Schultz shot & edited it.

I’m the good twin. I promise. Just ask me anything.

Top 10 Things I, Rob Lathan, Have Gotten Out Of While Fixing the Economy

Thursday, September 25th, 2008

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

Lately I’ve been busy fixing the economy. It’s actually a good excuse to get out of stuff. Whenever people ask me to do something, I just reply, “Can’t. I’m fixing the economy.” Here is a list of the top ten things I’ve gotten out of while fixing the economy:

10. Doing the laundry.

9. Jury duty.

8. Cleaning up after myself.

7. Going in to work.

6. Attending friend’s baby shower.

5. Putting the toilette seat back down after I pee.

4. Poking someone back on Facebook.

3. Taking my shoes off when I go through airport security.

2. Saying sorry after I accidentally knock someone down on the street.

1. Actually fixing the economy.

Freedom Network: Friday Night at Midnight

Monday, September 22nd, 2008

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

The Freedom Network returns this Friday night at midnight at the UCB Theatre. The show is Dave Thunder’s brainchild. But Dave was nice enough to throw in several Latham bits here and there. Not only will I be playing the army guy/basketball coach character above called “Rob Lathan”, but I’ll also be making an appearance as Dr. Lanny Latham. Also, several videos that I’m in will be screened throughout the evening, including “Permanent Nutface Gary,” “The Phelps Minute,” and an old video I did back in the day with Will Hines and Matt DeCoster called “The Fun Squad.”

The show also stars Dave Thunder, Mike Still, Andy Rocco and Matt DeCoster. See if you can figure out each character’s trait from the picture above. Or better yet, just come to the show.

FREEDOM NETWORK
Friday Night, September 26, Midnight, $5
The Upright Citizens Brigade Theater
307 W 26th Street (& 8th Ave.)
Reservations

—————————————————–

And if you want to get a double dose of the Lathanator on Friday, I’ll also be performing in a sketch that Brandon Bassham wrote as part of the Backyard Brawl. That show is at 8 pm. And the Freedom Network is at midnight. Both are at the UCB Theatre.

Nightswimming with Mark Spitz

Friday, September 12th, 2008

See more funny videos at Funny or Die

Mark Spitz hosts a late night call in show about sex. But try not to ask him about Michael Phelps.

Once again Brandon Bassham and Pete Schultz came through big here. Also contributing were Ryan Schultz, Andree Vermeulen, Guy Patton, and Jill Donnelly.

The video is also on digg.com. If you have a digg account, please digg it by clicking here.
