Dr. Lanny Latham For Hire

Friday, June 27th, 2008

Dr. Lanny Latham had another gig yesterday where he performed his patented “Get Psyched” seminar at an office in New York City. This was his second seminar performing for a group of strangers in the last two weeks. The first seminar was at an office in Brooklyn. This time it was at a bigger office in lower Manhattan.

For each seminar, the employees were told that a real, certified life coach would perform a seminar that would change their life for the better. Most were skeptical. But Dr. Lanny did his best to change all that. He started things off with a bang – by making a dramatic entrance to the song “Sirius” by The Alan Parsons Project (a song once used to introduce the starting lineup of the Chicago Bulls). Right when the synthesizers kicked in, Dr. Lanny entered the crowded conference room (still holding his cassette tape player) and began to jump up and down and yell “Get Psyched!”

Still, most remained skeptical. But after Dr. Lanny led everybody through The Seven Steps to Living a Better Life, as well as exercises of Quick Hands and Shuttle Runs, he had several believers on his side. Plus he broke the world record for psychedness on his psych-odometer. So I think, all in all, it was a success.

Also, Dr. Lanny had his expert camera crew on hand to film each seminar (each camera operator wore a “Get Psyched” T-shirt). So hopefully you can see the footage sometime soon.

What does this all mean? It means you should hire Dr. Lanny Latham immediately for your own seminar. Click here to contact Dr. Lanny Latham. Your life will drastically change for the better. Don’t believe me? Well, maybe this will help you….

Permanent Nutface Gary Searches For His Long Lost Father

Saturday, June 14th, 2008

The good people at Funny or Die asked me to make a video for Father’s Day. So I made one where Permanent Nutface Gary looks for his long lost father. It’s now on the front page of Funny or Die in the main player. It stars John Lutz, Nate Shelkey and Permanent Nutface Gary. And once again the team of Bassham/Schultz did some heavy lifting to make it happen. If you like the video, feel free to forward it around or even “digg” it by clicking here. That’s what the kids say to do. But before you do all that, watch it…

Watch Fat Guy Stuck In Internet on Adult Swim

Friday, June 13th, 2008

The first episode of Fat Guy Stuck in Internet airs this Sunday night/Monday morning at 12:15 am on the Cartoon Network as part of Adult Swim. The series was created, written by and stars John Gemberling and Curtis Gwinn. And it’s way cool that it’s finally airing on Adult Swim. It originally started out as a fake tv pilot for Channel 102. Every single episode of the original “Gemberling” (as it was called then) was filmed at my old office which is mentioned in this NY Times article. For the Adult Swim episodes they of course branched out from my old office (especially since I no longer have the security pass) and found their own space.

I think I’m in three of the episodes. In the first episode I play a guard in tights. In the third episode I play a zombie keyboardist in tights. And in the fifth episode I have a few roles – none in tights. So DVR it! Or watch it live! Tights!

Update: some clips from the show that I’m in are below.

Friday the 13th Insanity

Friday, June 13th, 2008

It’s Friday the 13th. No sign of Jason. But you might want to stay on the lookout for either a guy who looks like he’s constantly having an orgasm or a guy who likes to do an exercise known as “Quick Hands.” That’s because today, while I’m still on the company clock at my day job, I will be playing not one, but two of my alter egos: Permanent Nutface Gary and Dr. Lanny Latham. (Yes I know that it’s sad to have two alter egos.)

For Permanent Nutface Gary I have to film some pick-up shots for a Father’s Day video I’m doing for Funny or Die. So stay tuned for that.

For Dr. Lanny Latham, I was hired to perform a fake seminar for a company in Brooklyn. It is sort of a prank I think. I guess I’ll find out when I get there.

So I traveled on the subway this morning with a camera, a boom box (for Gary), clothes for Gary, props for Dr. Lanny (which includes a toy guitar, a toy keyboard, a jump rope, a hand puppet, a noise maker, a fake snake in a fake can of peanuts, etc.) and my suit for Dr. Lanny. And I carried all of these items up the elevator to my cubicle at my day job. Throughout the day I will be changing into my various characters’ getup, grabbing my props, and traveling around NYC to perform, all while I’m supposed to create an image that I’m still doing normal day-job type work.

It’s actually just a typical day at the office for me. But still…

The insanity has got to stop. Make it stop. Why? Why must it continue?… Quick Hands!…Ah, much better…

Eddie Vedder’s Tribute Song For Permanent Nutface Gary

Tuesday, June 3rd, 2008

Remember Permanent Nutface Gary? How could we not, right? Well now, a tribute song has been written and performed in his honor. Who, might you ask, would have written a song for Permanent Nutface Gary? Oh just a guy by the name of Eddie Vedder. Check it out.
