NFL Football Reenactment

September 21st, 2006

Yesterday, I filmed a segment with my main man, Kenny Mayne, for ESPN. Well actually, it wasn’t just me - Nate Shelkey spearheaded a rag-tag group from the UCB (including me) to participate in the bit with Kenny. We were called in to play historical football reenactors who would reenact the hundredth anniversary of the first ever forward pass. As a bunch of nerdy comedians we didn’t come across as much of a football squad - which was the point. Even the camera man looked down on us. When we arrived on set in Central Park, he told us, “Man, you guys look pathetic. I wish I got to play against you growing up.” It didn’t help matters that our uniform of choice was an all white tennis outfit. But at least I got to play “quarterback” - or what a quarterback looked like in 1906 - which basically meant I hopped around the field as a silent film star of the time would. The segment was very fun to film and should turn out funny. I think Joe Namath might even make an appearance. It will air on ESPN this Sunday at around 12:15 during their NFL Sunday Countdown. Check it out.

Tonight I am performing at a show called Oh Hello hosted by Nick Kroll and John Mulaney. Here are the details:
Oh Hello
Rififi (cinema classics)
332 E11th st (btwn 1st and 2nd ave)
Thursday, September 21st 8pm
Free (I think)

I will attempt to break the world record in getting people psyched, as well as perform my world class ventriloquist set. Check that out too!

I love the Oh Hello guys! Sounds like a hoot. I wish I could catch the show, but I got class.

Also, great set on Harold night this week. The crashed car scenes were hilarious.

Hey, Barksdale forwarded your site to me - specifically the lost seat prank. Anyway, I posted it on my site, which gets like 3 unique visitors a day, so you should see a serious spike in your hits this week. Brace your server.
